From the VRS Scan menu, the following scanning options are available:

 Fast Scan: Quickly scan and attach a document to your email message using

default settings

 Scan with Preview: Scan and preview the results before attaching a document

to your email message

 Scan with Profile: Select a scanning profile and quickly scan a document to be

saved as an attachment to your email message

 Configure: Configure settings, scan, and optionally preview the results before

attaching a document to your email message

The same functions (with one variation) are also available from the VRS toolbar,

which is available when you create or open an email message. In place of Scan with

Profile, the VRS toolbar lists the active scanning profile and the attachment file name.

Note The VRS Desktop Productivity add-in for Microsoft Outlook 2003 or

Outlook XP must be activated to access the VRS Scan menu and VRS toolbar as you

compose an email message. For details, see Activating VRS Desktop Productivity

Features on page 78.

Important If you select Microsoft Word as your email editor in either Microsoft

Outlook 2003 or Outlook XP, VRS Desktop Productivity features are not available

within Microsoft Outlook. The Desktop Productivity options become available within

Microsoft Outlook as soon as you turn off the option to use Microsoft Word as your

email editor. To locate this option, select Tools | Options and then select the Mail

Format tab.
